Nearly 200 Chicago teachers "shopped for free" this past January at our second Swap Circle for Teachers. They selected from books, science equipment and math manipulatives, fabric, art and office supplies, tools and furniture valued at tens of thousands of dollars.
Over 80 pallets of materials and supplies were donated to CCRx for Chicago teachers and their students to use. Highlighted donors included the University of Chicago, SCARCE, Queen of Peace High School, The Joffrey Ballet, Attea Middle School, CPS Warehouse and Chicago Teachers Union Foundation. And Chuck Thurow.
“I have nothing, literally nothing,” said one teacher. “This is amazing and will really help my students.”
Sending love to our many volunteers and to our generous hosts at Victor Hall Chicago. And to Mother Nature for a sunny 60 degree January day ; )
Congratulations to all the teachers who made it out. Email or post to our Facebook page to let us know what you did with your treasures!
